Passing of Arie Poldervaart

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of fellow member Arie Poldervaart. Arie regularly posted to the online PSNWA photo competition, and seldom missed a meeting to learn from fellow photographers. We will truly miss Arie and his contributions to PSNWA.

BELLA VISTA -- Arie William Poldervaart, 68, died Oct. 8, 2008, in Bella Vista. He was born June 23, 1940, in Santa Fe, N.M., to Arie and Edna Kerchmar Poldervaart. He studied electrical engineering at the University of New Mexico and at the University of Southern California. After graduation, he worked 12 years for Rockwell, where he designed the guidance system for the minuteman missiles. In 1974, he left Rockwell to join Wycliffe bible translators and worked with the Northern Paiute Indians in Nevada. During the seven years there, he helped produce the Paiute grammar and dictionary. Arie and his wife Dee met in Dallas at Wycliffe and were married on Aug. 12. 1988. He enjoyed painting, photography, and camping and was a member of The Christian Center Church in Bentonville.

BORDER=0 IMPORTANT NOTICE ABOUT PSNWA MEETING LOCATIONS

PSNWA will be meeting in Fayetteville on even months and Bentonville on odd months!

By popular request and the great turn out at last month's meeting the Board of Directors for PSNWA has decided to begin alternating meeting locations between Fayetteville and Bentonville so that more of the membership will have opportunities to attend PSNWA meetings. On even numbered months we will meet at the Whole Hog Cafe in Fayetteville. On odd numbered months we will meet at the Whole Hog Cafe in Bentonville. This is a trial for the remainder of 2008. The Board will evaluate the success fall schedule before deciding to continue the alternating schedule into 2009.
